Hi Donna, I am so very sorry to hear of Gene’s passing. Although I did not know him well he was always so friendly and seemed like such a kind and gentle person. I would love to see you sometime and when you’re in Victoria and if you have time please give me a call. I will be thinking of you at this sad and difficult time.

Hugs, Jan. 250.598,1633. Jankennedy@shaw.ca

Donna and crew, Just a quick note. So sorry to hear about Gene. One had to keep his head up when Gene was on the ice, whether playing with or agin him. Always a smile and a kind word whenever our paths crossed. He will be remembered by all who knew him, when we oldtimers get together to rehash past times. Our best to you and your girls, George( the milkman)

Hi Donna and girls,
Jill and I are so sorry to hear of Gene's passing. We have so many great memories of our time on Sunset and our many get togethers. Love to all of you at this difficult time.

Donna, Traci, Lyndsay and Katie... Our entire family (myself, Lee, Bryan and Donna - and my Dad) were all very sad to hear abut Gene's passing and our hearts go out to your family. Gene was a special person to me going way back to 1974, when we joined the BC Government on the same day, It was truly a fun timeframe in those early days when our two families often got together for camping trips, holidays, parties, etc and later when he and I played our golf, hockey and baseball - and shared the "big game"... much to your usual dissatisfaction. Gene was always a great guy to share time with, but he was also a very well respected and astute businessman who was a visionary in many ways. His staff and co-workers had nothing but respect for him and he was a trusted confidant as well. I know there are many who worked for and with him that will remember and admire him for his determination, work ethic and guidance. While we lost touch over the last few years, myself and my family will always be proud to call Gene a true friend. Lee and I would love to reconnect with your family, so if you could drop a note back, it would be appreciated. Much love, Lee and Phil

We are both very sorry to learn about Gene's passing. Peter worked with Gene at Court Services Branch in the 80's. Gene was a well respected member of the management team and provided invaluable guidance with respect to the Ministry's information systems. After hours on several occasions when colleagues rented a rink to play beginner hockey, Gene was able to adjust his game accordingly. Thanks Gene...you will be missed.

Gene was one of my favourite people to talk with at Windsor Park during dog play times. He was an all-around great guy. I'm sorry for your loss Donna.

I just got word. It is such a blow to know he is gone. His humor and competitive nature combined in a unique way. I will miss him. I will always smile when I think of my friend...gone but never forgot.
